Who Are We?
Sports Test Equip evolved from its parent company Sports Labs, an advanced sports technology testing laboratory who accredit sports surfaces and sports technology to world governing body standards.
Designing and manufacturing their own bespoke equipment to meet testing requirements for over 15 years and pioneers of the first flight packable set of FIFA testing equipment, there soon became an increasing demand for Sports Labs’ testing equipment both internally and externally. This feature of Sports Labs evolved into its own company, Sports Test Equip. STE are industry specialists in the design, development and manufacture of sports technology testing equipment. Our experienced testing engineers have a direct link into the construction of all testing equipment we manufacture. A connection which ensures that our products are built with the user in mind.
We continue to work alongside Sports Labs, operating from the same headquarters in Livingston. Sharing knowledge, expertise and resources, we can constantly refine and improve the testing equipment which we supply.
We also work with natural grass experts ProPitch, supplying the equipment to make up their elite grounds staff toolkits, which are used by top level professional football teams all over the world!
Research, Development and Innovation
We work closely alongside Sports Labs’ dedicated research and development team and constantly look to drive innovation in the sports testing industry. Discovering new technologies to apply to our current products and designing new equipment all together to meet new test methods is something which we have a proven track record in delivering.

A recent success of our research and development team was the development of the award winning ‘Field Marshall’. This lightweight, compact and transportable impact attenuation device was made to maximise field testing efficiency by replacing the need for three testing devices with one. The Field Marshall was designed, engineered, and tested alongside the well-recognised Advanced Artificial Athlete (AAA), Clegg Hammer and GMax device to produce outputs of Force Reduction (%), Deformation (mm), Energy Restitution (%), Impact values (IV) and GMax (G) from a single drop, ultimately combining three industry-standard impact devices in one device.

Alongside our standard product line we have the ability to design and supply bespoke pieces of testing equipment. The Lisport XL is a bespoke accelerated wearing apparatus used to test artificial turf samples by replicating the wear of repetitive play which a pitch is exposed to. The machine imparts stresses onto the artificial turf system to simulate flattening, bending forces and wear to the yarn. Our Lisport XL machines were designed by our R&D team and are used every day to test artificial samples in the Laboratory at the Sports Labs headquarters as well as locations worldwide where they have been installed.
